Q: Why do you like flamenco?

A: I like flamenco because it has brought me back to dance after what was an extended break. It is much different from what I have done in the past (ballet and jazz): the live musicians, the music itself, the spontaneity of everyone working together, the fire and passion that go hand in hand with the culture of it all. Flamenco can push you both mentally and physically. It makes you feel alive--whether you are dancing or sitting in the audience.

Q: Do you have anything special to add about your Kasandra?

A: Kasandra's enthusiasm and passion for flamenco are practically tangible. This alone makes her a great teacher. She is patient, yet she knows when to push her students farther. She refuses to limit her dancers, insisting on teaching the newest styles and and pushing them to apply what they have learned. Beyond the studio, Kasandra also tries to expose her students to more of the flamenco community and culture by keeping them updated on current flamenco events/shows and by setting up social activities and performances.
