January 2006
Kasandra in Jerez de la Frontera and Sevilla, Spain
from February 21 to May 15 NOTE substitutions and changes
to schedule!
Dear Al Mozaico Flamenco Dance Academy Students,
I happy to tell you that I am the recipient of the Canada
Council for the Arts 2005 grant to emerging artists. The grant
from the Canada Council allows me to spend three months in
Jerez de la Frontera and Sevilla studying with great flamenco
artists this spring. I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity
although I am wistful at leaving the academy for so long.
However, Spain calls! One of my goals is to study the Bata
de Cola (flamenco dress with long train) and I will have splendid
things to teach you when I come back!
I will be teaching at Al Mozaico Flamenco Dance Academy for
7 consecutive weeks from January 3 to February 19th. Then
I will be off to Spain for an intensive study trip from February
21 to May 15, 2006.
While I am away, my Saturday and Monday courses will continue.
Hopefully this will relieve my flamenco students of their
crazed panick, “What am I going to do without my flamenco
classes?!? What am I going to doooooo!?” Not to fear,
life as we know it is NOT over. I will not deprive you
of your flamenco completely.
