SILVER SPONSOR
Sayo
Nickerson of ReMax Real Estate Services sponsors “Imagenes
del Oriente” on June 8 and 15, 2007
Vancouver, BC Sayo Nickerson of ReMax Real Estate Services
wishes Mozaico Flamenco Dance Theatre a wonderful performance
of “Imagenes del Oriente”, the first of the Café
de Chinitas tablao series at Edie Hats on June 8 and 15, 2007.
Sayo generously donated $2,500 to become a Silver Sponsor
and support flamenco in Vancouver.
Sayo
Nickerson is currently ranked amongst the top 5% of all
Lower Mainland Realtors. With most of her business coming
from past client referrals, she has shown that her customers
trust in her ability and are confident coming back to her
again and again. On top of sponsoring the Arts, Sayo donates
10% of her net revenue to local environmental “green”
causes.
“The Arts and the Environment are integral parts of
any community. I try to promote both!” says Sayo, who
believes that people want to be environmentally pro-active
but aren’t always sure where to start. “Through
the work of our chosen charities, our clients can see they
are making a difference.”
A flamenco dancer herself, Sayo became involved with Al Mozaico
Flamenco Dance Academy in 2006. After seeing the theatrical
production of Café de Chinitas in October, she was
inspired by the concept of a multicultural cast and innovative
fusion. Sayo personally identified with the spirit of an Asian
and Western fusion being of Japanese and American descent
herself. Excited by the dramatic effect of new ideas in such
a traditional art form, she became a sponsor right away. “I
am honoured and pleased to be able to dance with and support
such a wonderful company!” says Sayo. Since then, Sayo
has explored the art of flamenco dance at the academy and
is meeting the Bulerias Por Fiesta challenge head on.
“On behalf of Mozaico Flamenco Dance Theatre, I would
like to thank Sayo Nickerson for her generous sponsorship
of Café de Chinitas. We feel very fortunate to have
her support”, says Kasandra, Project Artistic Director.
“Café de Chinitas, which explores the art of
Flamenco with the Asian melodies of the Orchid Ensemble is
taking another step in this series by integrating Vancouver
fashion and culture. While Flamenco has been fused with other
genres, the Chinese-Flamenco fusion has never been done before.
This is very fitting for the cultural make up of our city
and multiculturalism in Vancouver!”
