Dear students of Al Mozaico Flamenco Dance Academy,
Thanks to everybody who came out and participated in "Al Golpe" aka "the stomp" on Sunday! I was so happy about the turn out, the positive energy, the great love and inspiration! People are still talking about it! It seems everyone at Mozaico Flamenco wants to participate whether it be Sevillanas, Fandangos, Tangos, Bulerias or a big solo. This was the best event in a long time because so many people participated. Congratulations to all our students who have been inaugurated into flamenco improvisation performance!
For more pictures, view GYPSY RUMOR.

We had many generations of Vancouver flamencos out there from our founding fathers, Gary, Oscar to first generation Kino dancer, Karen Boothroyd, to myself, to all our newbie students. So awesome! Thanks to Pirouz, Jafelin, Farnaz for singing.

Thanks also for making our RED WINE VALENTINE raffle a big success! Our talented community donated all kinds of gifts including 7th Annual Jondo Festival tickets (Pena Bulerias), 60 minute massage (Achilles Massage Therapy), flamenco items (Edie Hats), CDs (Orchid Ensemble) AND lots of bottles of vino tinto, tequila, jerez and booze donated by our wonderful student body.
We raised enough funds to keep our free bulerias classes on Saturday morning going for about 8 weeks! We do a bit of cante (singing), palmas (handclapping) and cajon (drumming) each morning. Oscar Nieto will be an invited guest to impart some bulerias wisdom in the next few weeks! Yea! Viva Jerez!
Next project: Get some palmas, cante and vibes going on Sunday mornings too! Why not spread the love?
The next "AL GOLPE": Sunday March 27th 6-8pm at the Kino Café.
(This event is not advertised because Mozaico Flamenco’s student body can pack the Kino Cafe without any external marketing! Feel free to spread the news by word of mouth or invite friends and family. We could always use more people in our flamenco village…)
