Q: What first drew you to flamenco?

A: Ava Gardner. I was in Hawaii in my early 20s and met an older movie character actor from L.A. who said I reminded him of Ava Gardner. Since then, I have become fascinated with Ava's life. I loved watching her in The Barefoot Countessa and she is my favourite "bombshell."
Ava lived in Spain for many years, loved to dance flamenco and embraced the passionate life of the Spanish People (not to mention a sexy matador she dated).

There is a statue they have dedicated to her in Tossa del Mar on the coast in NW Spain. One day I will go see it.

Q: What do you like about Mozaico Flamenco?

A: It is very well organized, has considerate and supportive teaching, and creates a sense of community. Kasandra is a beautiful, high-achiever balanced with a gentle heart. Her guidance is firm and designed but unobtrusive like the rounded stones that line the creeks of the Nitobe
